Overall situational picture of security of supply 22 October 2024: Situational picture stable, cyber attacks carried out on banking services

The overall situational picture of security of supply remains stable. Banking services have been suffering from cyber attacks that have caused temporary service disruptions. The impacts of these disruptions have, however, remained minor in terms of security of supply. There are occasional challenges regarding the availability of materials and components, and international commercial supply chains are subject to uncertainties.

Banking services have been suffering from cyber attacks that have caused temporary service disruptions affecting private customers in particular. In terms of security of supply, the impacts of these disruptions have remained minor, however.

International commercial supply chains are subject to uncertainties, such as disturbances in the Red Sea. The situation in the Middle East has so far had only a relatively minor impact on the availability and price of oil products.

Several industries are currently facing occasional challenges regarding the availability of materials and components. These challenges are affecting investments in particular but may also cause delays in the tackling of disruptions.

The overall increase in production costs is putting pressure on companies to increase the prices of products and services. The possibilities of responding to rising production costs by raising prices vary between industries. The resource demands of security measures, such as cyber security, have also increased.

The overall situational picture of security of supply compiled by the National Emergency Supply Agency (NESA) examines the challenges in the operating environment from several perspectives. The situational picture report includes an overview of different industries’ ability to function and the challenges they may face.

The NESA updates the overall situational picture once a month and releases a brief summary of the situational picture report. The details concerning industries are classified and are therefore not made public.
